Ira is a narrow and jagged parcel of land. Rt 4 and 4A run parallel with one another in and east – west direction at the northern end. RT 133 runs diagonally through the lower half in a nrth – south direction

We drove through this town on Rt 4A. We found the Castleton – Ira town line sign coming back from Rutland and West Rutland. We had to turn around and head back East. After taking a picture of the town line sign, we had to turn back around to head West again. We turned around at Birdseye Lane only to find the Ira town sign perched above the street sign. We had already driven past it twice!
