Sheldon is a long, narrow and, sideways shaped triangle parcel of land. Rt 105 basically runs through the middle. The Missisquoi River runs along side it and Rt 78. Rt’s 78, 120 and 236 begins or ends from Rt 105 and all run in a east, west direction. The LVRT that runs east and west along Rt 78 intersects with the MVRT in Sheldon, which runs north and south.
Ann and I have ridden our bicycles on the LVRT and MVRT. There are long railroad bridges on both trails that have been retrofitted to accept bicycle traffic. I have kayked through Sheldon and day camped at Lucier / Abbey Rapids Campsite which is part of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.

Ann n I needed the exercise and made a date to walk the rail trail. Ann had never been further than Bordeau Bros. on the LVRT, so I decided to walk to Sheldon Creek. It was a great evening and a scenic walk.

Ann and I hadn’t ridden our bikes all year. We dusted them off and headed for the LVRT in Sheldon Creek. We decided to start where we left off from a couple of days ago with a walk. It was one of the most beautiful days of the year. The temps were moderate for August making it a very enjoyable ride. The scenery through this farmland was spectacular. Bouchard Rd. is fast becoming one of my favorite backroads for beauty.
