7/24/2021 Visited Hapgood Pond to find a car camping spot, but it was full. Hapgood Pond was the first federally purchased land to establish the GMNF. On 7/25/2021 we explored the town and captured an image of the town sign and had lunch outside at J.J. Hapgoods. It was a great experience. The touring center is up the road and we saw vans loaded with cycles headed up the road. Busy place for a small town. Home of Bromley Mnt. Ski Area which explains things.
6/2-3/2023 Camped at Hapgood Pond with Tucker. My plan was to camp at a scenic site on FR#58 and wheel my kayak to Griffith Lake. God had other plans! The site was taken, so we stayed at nearby Hapgood Pond. It was the perfect place to get Tucker to ride in the kayak for the first time The next day we hiked 4 miles with Tucker to skinny dip in Griffith Lake. A young girl walking her dog while tucker was off leash and I was bare ass in the water, made for an interesting moment. Tucker was off leash for the whole trip.
