Where the heck is Goshen??

Well, I was exploring Rochester, in Windsor County, and then drove west on Rt. 73 to check out a hike on the Long Trail up Mount Horrid. After bobbing in and out of Chittenden, in Rutland County, Rt. 73 continues through Rochester and then into Goshen, in Addison County.

A pullover on the right side of Rt. 73 gives a great overview of the Cliffs on Mount Horrid and a little further along there is a parking area on the left. I had hoped to hike up and enjoy the view from the cliffs, but they were closed to protect the breeding peregrine falcons so I’ll have to come back. I hiked up to Mount Horrid, but there is no view from this particular mountain top. The hike starts in Goshen, but the cliffs are in Rochester and the top of Mount Horrid is in Rochester as well.
