The Weathersfield Trail is a great place to start a hike up Ascutney, past the Crystal Cascade Falls. The top of Ascutney is not in Weathersfield though. It lies really close to the townline between Windsor and West Windsor.

A piece of history I find fascinating is that the first Merino sheep were imported from Spain to the US to Weathersfield, Vermont, by William Jarvis in 1811. From Wikipedia: ‘Thanks to his introduction of Merino sheep, he provided the underpinning for Vermont agriculture for the next century.’ At one point there were many more sheep than people in Vermont.
