- Mountainous town with the AT, LT and Catamount Trails passing through
- Home of Bromley Mountain – in fact the town used to be called Bromley when it was first chartered
- I have spent one season (2024/25) snowboarding at Bromley – I really enjoyed it’s small community atmosphere
- Route 11 passes through Peru’s southeastern corner
- Because of the high elevation it can get some intense weather events – local ice storms and pelting rain thunderstorm were a feature of the start of 2025
- Wild Wings Ski Touring Center offeres an alternative, non-downhill ski community atmosphere
- JJ Hapgood General Store & Eatery is worth a stop, but double check with a phone call to see if it is really open – in the off season it is often closed
- Hapgood Pond and Campground is a lovely area of recreation
