Stamford has a square shaped borders. North Adams, Mass is it southern most border line. Rt 8 runs diagonally north to south through the southeastern corner of town. Rt 8 is steep in places and climbs to a high elevation.

8/16/2023 We drove through this town for the 1st time We came in from the Massachusetts end after going through Pownal, VT. We were able to find a couple of towns signs. Very pretty mountainside views
