Barnard is a diamond shaped parcel of  land that Rt 12 runs diagonally north n south through. Off from a sharp corner on Rt 12 lies Silver Lake and the Barnard General Store. It is a very picturesque setting with a small beach and some benches. It is a great place to have a picnic with goods from the Barnard General Store. I have been told that their deli is excellent. It was busy the day we stopped in to buy coffee for our camping trip to Coolidge State Park. We have toured Silver Lake State Park and hope to camp there someday. I have submitted photos from the park as a photo intern. On our way home from camping at Coolidge, we took the back way into Barnard via Pomfret / Stage Rd. From there we took North Rd to Rt 107 in Bethel. A very scenic ride that would be beautiful in the fall. I also learned about Feast n Field which is a concert series put on by Fable Farm.
