Fairfield is a funky shaped parcel. A jagged edge protrudes westerly where  I 89 and Rt 104 nip the very tip in a North and South direction. Rt 36 runs almost through the middle and goes in a East / West direction where it meets with Rt 108 in Bakersfield.

This town is in our highway maintenance district. The first bridge of our covered bridge tour was the East Fairfield Covered Bridg. In the mid 90’s I worked for Raymond Horrigan in the sugar woods. We used horses to haul the sap. The first bridge of our covered bridge tour was the East Fairfield Covered Bridge. I have Paddled and built a camp site on Fairfield Swamp. Swam and paddled Fairfield Pond.

In September of 2018, Ann and I married Charlie and Charliene Fecteau on a hilly meadow off from a back road.

I have hiked the trails around Chester A Arthur’s birthplace but haven’t visited it while it’s open ( since being a kid).

On 8-12-22 Ann n I went to Chester’s together for the first time to have one of their pizzas. Wowie!

John Rooney told me about the Jig in the Valley many years ago. I always liked the title, and vowed to attend some day. This year was the first year that Ann n I have been able to attend, and who did we see? John Rooney! We had a good talk about the old days of this event. Today it is a tame evening of music on the green with food and things to do for the kids. We painted a rock red with a green 251 and placed it on the Jig in the Valley sign near the enterance.

Ann n I rode our bikes from Sheldon Creek to Paradee Rd. in Fairfield. It was an icredibly beuatiful ride We put another 251 rock on a guardrail. Before turning around at Paradee Rd. we stopped and set out our micro chairs and watched the cattle graze while we grazed ourselves.
