I have been driving through this town since I was a kid. Dad used to go through Essex while checking on the house in Fairfax. Dad would sometimes put a can of beans on the manifold and feed us when we got to the land. We would sometimes stop at Powell’s place in Essex Center for burger. Dad knew the owner from working around the corner at Hedge n Mathis (?) Bill n Mary Holmes lived on Rt 128 and we would visit them sometimes.
The Champlain Valley Expo was a big deal growing up.
We have gone to the movies at Essex Cinemas, played miniature gold at Family Fun n Entertainment Center . Ann n I have explored Indian Brook Park and gone to Essex Alliance Church.
On this day we traveled through Essex while on our Rt. 100 car camping trip. On our 10th anniversary we visited Mason Brothers Structural Antiques
