Our visit to Glastenbury was limited to the gravel-only paved Glastenbury Rd. Not because of the local lore (seriously, the Bennington Triangle??) but the simple fact that we’re not experienced hikers and respect the Green Mountains enough to know when not to push our luck.

East Road from Bennington and through Shaftsbury wove back and forth across (under, actually) Route 7. The views of Glastenbury and other mountains were spectacular, especially with colors starting. I didn’t truly understand how close we are to actual wilderness areas, but today’s trip is helping that sink in.
