After Woodstock for breakfast and Bridgewater, we took River Rd off of Route 4/100 to get to the town center of Killington. I took a picture for the road sign in front of the town hall. Continuing down River Rd, we crossed the AT and then to Route 100.

We have stayed at Gifford Woods state park in the past and climbed Killington Mountain. Next month Helen and I will take the AT from Maine Junction and hike through Killington east on the AT.

8/26/24: we hiked the AT from the Long Trail to Gifford Woods State Park and past Kent Pond. We stopped at Thundering Brook then up Quimby Mountain. We spent the night at Stony Brook shelter which is right on the border of Killington and Stockbridge.
