I drove up Route 71 from Route 9 in Searsburg. This was a remote dirt road which ran along the river and past the hydropower dam. I took a right to the Somerset reservoir. I took a picture there in from of the sign for hydro-electric dam. After going back to intersection with Route 9, I got back on Route 71. There was a remote campground just up Route 71.  No one was there. The road became less groomed at some point and would be difficult to pass after a heavy rain (closed in the winter).  There were camping spot along the way.  After about 8 miles I got to the Kelly Stand Road and to Route 7.
