Notes on visit:

I hiked the 1.6 mile White River Ledges loop, a Nature Conservancy site.  There was no view but still a nice hike. We drove the length of Pomfret Rd to Route 12 and then north to Barnard.

I will be hiking through Pomfret on the Appalachian Trail when I finish the Vermont section of the AT later this summer.

8/29/24: over a year later, Helen and I did an AT hike from Route 12 to the Pomfret Rd. This was just a day hike after backpacking from the LT to Route 12 on the AT. Beautiful 4.4 mile hike through meadows and forests- some incline and decline but not too bad. Next year we’ll be hiking across the rest of Pomfret into the very northwestern section of Hartford.
